Konecranes has secured a contract to provide two double-girder overhead cranes to Westcon Helgeland for a new production site in Nesna, Norway.

Westcon Helgeland, which operates in ship repair, rig maintenance and equipment fabrication for the oil sector, placed the order in the first quarter of 2026.

Konecranes plans to deliver the cranes in October 2026.

The two CXTD double girder cranes to be supplied are designed to handle heavy parts used in manufacturing equipment for the oil industry.

Each crane features a main hoist with a capacity of 2 x 80t, as well as an auxiliary hoist rated at 10t.

The cranes will operate on a 37.5m span and have a hook height of 17.4m.

Westcon Helgeland CEO Arnt Skogsøy said: “We have worked with Konecranes on previous crane deliveries, and their understanding of our operational requirements has been important for this project.

“For our new facility, we needed a solution capable of handling heavy and complex components efficiently, and Konecranes was able to meet these requirements.”

Konecranes cites its commitment to customer needs, business growth and process improvement as factors in its position in the material handling sector.

The company also highlights its investments in digitalisation and technology, and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, supporting decarbonisation and advancing circularity and safety in materials management.

Konecranes Industrial Equipment sales CTO Asle Johansen said: “Having previously supplied similar cranes to Westcon Helgeland, we’re pleased to see the customer place their trust in Konecranes again as it reflects our ability to deliver reliable solutions for demanding lifting applications.”

Earlier this month, Konecranes announced plans to supply nine overhead cranes to Tata Metal Lestari’s site in Sadang, West Java, Indonesia, after receiving an order in February 2026.
