Konecranes is set to deliver nine overhead cranes to Tata Metal Lestari’s facility in Sadang, West Java, Indonesia, following an order placed in February 2026.

The installation is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026, and the equipment will support material handling requirements throughout the processing centre.

The contract covers two 30t CXT overhead cranes, one 16t CXT overhead crane, one 12t CXT overhead crane, one 10t CXT overhead crane, three 10t S-series overhead cranes equipped with TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring, and one 10t CXT cantilever crane.

Tata Metal Lestari purchasing manager Krismanto Susilo said: “Considering our operational activities, we needed reliable cranes that can handle the complexities of material handling in our facility. We believe that Konecranes’ products are the right fit and support us in ensuring a smooth and efficient process flow.”

Konecranes states the cranes will assist operations from the lifting of raw materials to handling goods during production and in warehousing.

Konecranes Indonesia country director Jimmy Halim said: “This order for PT Tata Metal Lestari reflects our commitment to providing customers with material handling solutions that help ensure their operations run efficiently, safely and with minimal downtime.”

In recent developments, Konecranes provided a set of heavy-duty crane systems for Fuchs, a brand of Terex, at its new production hall in Bad Schönborn, Germany. The site, which produces material handling machines for industries such as scrap, recycling, and ports, required equipment to manage upper structures with masses up to 230t.

The installation comprises two double-girder overhead travelling cranes with respective lifting capacities of 150t and 80t, each with spans of 32m. Konecranes, which operates in over 50 countries and employs approximately 16,500 people, reported group sales of €4.2bn ($4.94bn) for 2025. The company’s shares are traded on Nasdaq Helsinki under the symbol KCR.
