UK-based Stoddart Crane Hire has completed the installation of a 15t overhead crane for an undisclosed client on the Isle of Skye location.
The operation was conducted under full contract lift terms following a client enquiry, which led to a site visit and discussions about load requirements and dimensions.
Project measurements aligned with client-supplied DWG drawings, streamlining planning through computer-aided design (CAD) programmes and dynamic crane block technology.
The operation involved lifting in a restricted area, with large loads managed by the equipment on hand.
The Liebherr LTC 1045-3.1, a three-axle city crane with a 45t lifting capacity, played a key role in lifting due to its suitability for compact spaces.
The crane is recognised for its manoeuvrability in tight urban areas and features an elevating single cab for increased visibility, low travel height of about 3m, narrow width of 2.55m, and advanced steering systems.
These specifications enabled the machine to operate efficiently in the congested area.
The crane used for the project was a Cranbalt brand crane.
Stoddart Crane Hire coordinated the job with a two-day turnaround from initial client contact to completion.
Headquartered in Muir of Ord, Stoddart Crane Hire provides mobile and crawler cranes as well as heavy haulage and wheeled equipment for clients throughout Scotland, including the Highlands and Islands, and across the UK.
The company was founded in 2004 by David Stoddart, who began operations with a single Grove TM870 crane before expanding both his fleet and range of services.
Stoddart Crane Hire now operates cranes ranging from 5t to 250t capacity and supports projects with an experienced team familiar with challenging environments across the region.
The company continues to expand its fleet and invest in new technology to meet demand for specialist lifting and transport services throughout its operating areas.
