UK-based STS Engine Services has revealed the installation of a new overhead crane system at its London Stansted Airport facility.

The installation is part of its ongoing business development and facility improvement plan.

The equipment is supplied by Street Crane and includes an additional double-hook crane.

The crane will allow the company to handle a broader range of engine maintenance and repair tasks and manage higher volumes of work.

The latest installation aims to support STS Engine Services’ operational efficiency as it expands its maintenance, repair, and overhaul capacities.

The new crane is expected to play a significant role in enabling the facility to work on increasingly complex engine types and work scopes, the company said on its LinkedIn post.

STS Engine Services operates as a subsidiary of STS Aviation Group and focuses on providing maintenance and repair services for both commercial airlines and military clients worldwide.

The company offers on-wing support as well as comprehensive shop-based maintenance solutions from its UK location.

Street Crane, which is based in the UK since 1946, manufactures overhead cranes and hoists and supplies crane systems internationally through a large network of partners.

To date, Street Crane has installed over 100,000 overhead cranes in more than 48 countries.

In September, Brady & Morris Engineering installed several overhead cranes featuring components from Street Crane at a packaging materials production site in North India, which will be used to move polyfilm rolls within the facility.
