Hungary-based Texem Emeléstechnika has completed the installation of a Donati MBB jib crane in a building with unknown structural capacity, following the design and construction of a dedicated steel support structure to ensure safe operation.
The project involved fitting a standard Donati MBB jib crane at a site where the age and lack of structural documentation presented challenges for the installation process.
According to Texem Emeléstechnika, engineers determined that relying on the existing building structure would present unnecessary risks due to uncertainties regarding its load-bearing capabilities.
The company addressed this by designing and manufacturing a custom steel framework to support the crane without affecting the integrity of the decades-old building.
Texem Emeléstechnika said: “Rather than taking unnecessary risks, our engineering team designed and manufactured a dedicated steel support structure to safely accommodate the jib crane.”
The firm reported that integrating the standard Donati MBB jib crane with its own custom-built support system resulted in a lifting solution that prioritised safety and reliability.
The company described the outcome as a demonstration of combining standard equipment with bespoke engineering to solve complex installation problems.
The project is cited by Texem Emeléstechnika as an example of collaboration between Donati’s equipment and Texem’s technical expertise.
