Hoist UK has designed, manufactured and installed a freestanding light crane system featuring two single girder bridges, each with a rated capacity of 1,000kg.
The installation, completed for an undisclosed customer, is part of the company’s range of bespoke lifting solutions intended to increase flexibility and safety in load handling across work areas.
The freestanding support structure, developed in-house by Hoist UK, supports two bridges with a 5.2m bridge span (5.5m overall) and an 18m runway length.
The system is equipped with two Verlinde VX electric chain hoists. Manual travel is provided for all crane motions, while the hoisting mechanism offers powered operation with dual speeds of 4m/min and 1m/min.
An enclosed power feed system is mounted parallel to the bridge and runway tracks.
According to Hoist UK, this custom system was managed throughout its lifecycle by the company, from the initial design phase through to manufacturing, installation and final commissioning.
Hoist UK was established in 2006 by Tony Dickson and Paul Jordan, and began as a distributor for the French lifting equipment brand Verlinde.
The company has since expanded to include design, manufacture, and installation of a range of lifting and handling systems for the industrial and entertainment sectors.
Its services now cover the delivery of overhead crane systems, electric chain hoists, performer winches, shackles, and related equipment.
