Bertolotti Industries has completed site acceptance tests for a new 63t/10t overhead crane designed for the Arvedi AST plant in Terni, Italy.
According to the company, the testing phase concluded successfully, allowing the equipment to enter into service at one of Europe’s oldest and most significant steel production facilities.
The Arvedi AST site in Terni has operated for more than 140 years and is recognised as an integrated production hub with a focus on stainless steel flat products, forgings and tubes.
Since 2022, the facility has been part of the Arvedi Group, which is active in both the Italian and broader European steel industry.
Bertolotti Industries noted long-standing cooperation with the Terni plant, describing the client as a repeat customer across several years and projects.
The company said: “The Terni plant is a long-standing customer with whom we have been working for many years, and we are proud that this relationship continues today with the Arvedi Group through new machines, new projects and new industrial challenges.
“A special thanks to the Arvedi AST team for their collaboration and to everyone at Bertolotti, from engineering to the on-site team, who contributed to achieving this important milestone.”
The new overhead crane was manufactured according to specifications set by the steelworks, which today operates as one of Europe’s principal producers of stainless steel.
Bertolotti Industries highlighted its customised approach to design and production, explaining that its business model centres on adapting to client requirements for each individual project.
The company said its integrated process covers the entire cycle from design to installation and after-sales service.

In May 2026, a French industrial site introduced an overhead crane system supplied by Bertolotti Industries as part of a broader move to automate its material handling processes.
A Bertolotti overhead crane is used to lift and move materials across the production area, while the company’s electric automated guided vehicles (AGVs) transport heavy loads at ground level.
