UK-based Yaplex has completed the installation of a lifting system comprising a 500kg safe working load (SWL) jib crane and an electric chain hoist, along with a battery-powered vacuum lifter.
The project aims to improve the handling of large metal sheets by boosting safety and operational efficiency.
The battery-powered vacuum lifter, now in use, enables sheet handling without the need for a permanent electrical supply or a compressed-air connection.
This approach is designed to give operators more flexibility when moving materials around the workplace.
Yaplex said the system offers controlled lifting, reduces the need for manual handling, and is expected to support improved operator safety.
The equipment is also described as allowing for faster movement and smoother positioning of large sheet materials.
The company said: “A great example of how the right lifting solution can improve both safety and productivity.”
Founded in 2010, Yaplex specialises in the design and production of both standard and custom material handling and lifting solutions.
The company’s headquarters and manufacturing site are located in Clay Cross, Chesterfield, in a facility spanning 24,000ft2.
The production site operates in accordance with ISO 9001 – Quality Management System standards.
Yaplex produces equipment to meet the requirements set by the Machinery Directive 2006/42, and each system is supplied with a CE declaration of conformity and a comprehensive manual.
Yaplex reports that its products comply with LOLER and PUWER regulations, and that each installation receives a report of thorough examination and load testing.
Last month, Yaplex supplied and installed several electro-pneumatic vertical balance arm systems at workstations for an automotive manufacturer.
The project focused on improving productivity and reducing manual strain for assembly line operators.
The installed electro-pneumatic balance arms use advanced control technology to enable smooth, precise component handling.
