Plazar Manutention delivers overhead cranes to French machine tools manufacturer21 March 2023
French industrial lifting specialist Plazar Manutention has designed and installed nine overhead cranes for Jouanel, a French manufacturer of machine tools and also tools for the fine sheet metal industry.
Plazar Manutention has been in charge of the maintenance of Jouanel’s fleet of lifting equipment, which includes a total of 30 cranes, as well as their preventive maintenance for a number of years, so when Jouanel decided to build an extension to its existing buildings at Indre-et-Loire, to support its production growth, it naturally consulted Plazar Manutention.
The nine overhead cranes are designed to handle metal bars and transfer machine tools. They were delivered with Verlinde Eurobloc electric wire rope hoists for loads weighing from 800kg to 80,000kg. The hoists’ standard equipment includes a load limiter, a lift limit switch, two steering speeds and an IP55 electrical box. Jouanel already had Verlinde lifting equipment in its existing production buildings and was satisfied with their strength and reliability.
The speed of crane design and manufacture proved decisive in Jouanel choosing Plazar Manutention: the company took only three months to complete the order for the nine cranes.
"We responded to the call for tenders by Finhal Group (which owns Jouanel) and we were selected for our reactivity and the quality of our services at a competitive price.
“The fact that we are based in the vicinity also counted," said Jean-François Desveaux, manager of Plazar Manutention.
Emmanuel Halle, director of Jouanel, added: "We chose the Plazar company for three reasons: the manufacture of the cranes is carried out in [nearby] Touraine, we have been using Verlinde equipment since 1986 without any technical problems, and the service and reactivity of the Plazar company. I wish the Plazar-Verlinde [cooperation] continued success in the future.”
Plazar Manutention is a partner of Verlinde in the Centre Region of France.
The equipment in the new extension is said to have been working perfectly since it was put into service “and has given complete satisfaction”.
Plazar Manutention assists its customers in the design and choice of handling solutions for loads of up to 80,000kg. It carries out preliminary studies for the installation of new equipment, and for the modernisation and upgrade of existing equipment, and also takes care of maintenance. The company’s objective is to ensure the availability and maintenance of the lifting and handling equipment during the entire lifecycle. Since its creation in 2001, Plazar Manutention has chosen Verlinde as its supplier of new equipment.
Verlinde is a French manufacturer and exporter of lifting and handling equipment.
