Industrias Velasco Cabrera (VECA) has finished the installation of 14 electric chain hoists from Verlinde Lifting Equipment at the Don Benito – Villanueva EDAR facility in Spain.
The lift system, which required adaptation to curved beams, was installed within a two-week timeframe. The work included fitting festoon and feeding systems alongside the electric hoists.
The project was certified following an inspection by Global Inspection Services, which confirmed that all specified requirements were exceeded.
During the project, VECA addressed the challenge of installing equipment on curved beams, ensuring that both the carriages and festoon lines could operate securely and without obstruction.
The company managed all aspects of assembly and system integration to meet both the deadline and the technical specifications set by the client.
The Don Benito – Villanueva EDAR facility is a wastewater treatment plant valued at €66m and is under construction in Extremadura.
The facility is expected to begin operating in 2027 and will have the capacity to treat wastewater for up to 120,000 people (population equivalent).
VECA, with more than 25 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and installing material handling solutions, also provides services such as maintenance, repair, and the supply of spare parts to industrial customers.
The company operates a supplier network dedicated to ensuring the availability of essential components, supporting the ongoing reliability and operational longevity of installed equipment at industrial sites across multiple countries.
In May this year, VECA supplied a 2t overhead crane to a returning customer in the assembly and repair sector. The project included the installation of a chain hoist from Verlinde to meet the facility’s operational needs.
