Durham Lifting has relocated a jib crane for a customer, repositioning the unit within the client’s facility to meet operational requirements.
The crane returned to service shortly after the move, and that work proceeded without major interruption to site activity.
According to Durham Lifting, the crane was repositioned after a review of the existing setup.
The company stated that moving equipment within a facility can affect safety, access and daily workflow, and that adjustments to layout may help address performance issues without acquiring new machinery.
Durham Lifting said: “Moving a crane to the right position can make a big difference to safety, access, and day-to-day efficiency.
“Our team handled the relocation safely and efficiently, getting the crane back into operation with minimal disruption.”
Durham Lifting is a UK engineering firm established in 1996 and based at the Britannia Test House in Middlesbrough.
The site, originally used for testing steel components for the Sydney Harbour Bridge, provides heavy-load testing capability.
The company provides tensile and compression testing up to 3,000t for civil engineering, offshore, crane, and structural projects.
It also offers lifting equipment sales and hire, LOLER inspections, repair and refurbishment services and crane servicing and upgrades.
In February, Durham Lifting installed a crane system inside container units for a client, completing the project with a 1t extendable monorail hoist designed for confined space operations.
The company said the hoist met the client’s lifting requirements within the containerised layout.
The company engineered and manufactured the components in-house, then carried out inspections before delivering and completing the final on-site installation.
