SODILEVE has fitted a Verlinde electric chain hoist at an undisclosed client’s site in Deux-Sèvres, France.
The company completed the installation of the Verlinde Lifting Equipment VX model in its ATEX version, designed for operation in explosive environments.
The chain hoist, with a load capacity of 2,000kg, is mounted on an existing monorail and supplied with power through a Conductix-Wampfler cable carrier, also certified to ATEX standards.
The new set-up has been installed to meet safety requirements for handling operations in atmospheres where explosive gases or dust may be present.
SODILEVE stated that the configuration was selected to provide what it describes as reliability and handling precision during daily use.
Acceptance of the equipment involved building mechanics and HVAC specialist company, MECA CONTROLE, which assisted SODILEVE with the commissioning process.
According to SODILEVE, the project supported the client from the initial design stages through to the final commissioning.
SODILEVE offers installation and maintenance services for lifting equipment across a range of industries, including automotive, agri-food, wood processing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, industrial manufacturing, and construction.
The company forms part of SM3I, a group established in 2013 that operates in 32 departments throughout Western France.
In 2022, SM3I, incorporating SODILEVE, SMAI, and METALINOX, reported the completion of more than 8,000 projects for industrial clients in the region.
SM3I’s business activities cover trading, services, material handling, storage solutions, ergonomic systems, outsourcing, and industrial metalwork.
In July, SODILEVE completed the installation of an inverted jib crane at a pallet manufacturing site south of Bordeaux, France, intended for maintenance activities.
The company carried out the project without using lifting equipment such as cranes or forklifts, as these could not be positioned within the operating area at the client’s facility.
