Latvia-based heavy lifting equipment manufacturer RIKON has installed a second RMG-type container gantry crane at the First Dry Port Terminal in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The new container gantry crane matches the earlier unit, installed in April this year, with a lifting capacity of 41t under spreader.
Also, it features advanced control systems for precision and energy efficiency.
The First Dry Port Terminal, strategically positioned on the historic Great Silk Road, is expanding its infrastructure to bolster trade links between Asia and Europe.
The terminal covers 22ha and features eight railway tracks totalling 5.3km, along with customs facilities.
RIKON specialises in manufacturing cranes for various sectors, including ports and industrial enterprises.
The company operates from a 20,000m2 facility equipped with production shops, a railway line, and a mooring line.
Its newly installed crane is expected to enhance the terminal’s capacity to manage increased cargo traffic efficiently, said RIKON.
