Liebherr Maritime Cranes, a division of Liebherr Group, announced that four new ship-to-shore container cranes have become operational at Marport, part of the Ambarli Port Complex in Turkey.
These cranes, constructed in Killarney, Ireland, were designed specifically to meet the operational demands of Marport. They feature a 73m outreach, a 65-tonne safe working load under twinlift, and a lifting height of 54m.
The project showcases extensive international collaboration from fabrication through to commissioning.
Liebherr is committed to enhancing maritime operations with advanced port equipment solutions.
The company’s focus on quality and precision aims to ensure that each lift is performed efficiently, thereby improving operational productivity. This aligns with Liebherr’s strategy to optimise port operations and manage offshore projects effectively through reliable crane technology.
Liebherr Maritime operates across Rostock in Germany, Killarney in Ireland, and Sunderland in the UK. Each location plays a crucial role in delivering high-performance port equipment globally.
Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock is focused on maritime cranes and port equipment, offering mobile harbour cranes and the latest generation ship-to-shore cranes known for their performance and reliability.
Liebherr Container Cranes is engaged in supplying port equipment worldwide. Moreover, Liebherr Sunderland Works produces durable maritime cranes ranging from advanced mobile harbour cranes to state-of-the-art ship-to-shore containers.
In the offshore sector, Liebherr recently disclosed plans to supply two BOS 4200 Board offshore cranes for a project in Mexico’s Trion field in the Gulf of Mexico.
Manufactured by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries of South Korea, these cranes will be deployed on a floating production unit currently under construction.
The BOS crane series offers high lifting capacities with a maximum outreach of 64m and are fully assembled at the Rostock facility to expedite installation.
Furthermore, last month saw an upgrade at Liebherr’s manufacturing plant in Ehingen, Germany. During an early August company holiday, five outdated overhead cranes were replaced with new double-girder overhead travelling cranes featuring lifting capacities ranging from 40 to 63 tonnes.
This task was executed using three mobile units from the Schmidbauer Group, including a Liebherr LTC 1045-3.1 from Memmingen and two other models from Ulm.
