Italy-based Mocchetti Gino has completed the installation of a steelworks crane intended for ladle handling.

The crane, operated from a control cabin, features a capacity of 160t/40t and a span of 25.05m.

The company’s production department designed and manufactured the main hoist gearbox specifically for this project.

The company said: “We have recently completed the installation of a steelworks crane for ladles handling from the control cabin, designed to operate in harsh conditions and ensure maximum precision, reliability and operational continuity.”

Founded in 1955 by Gino Mocchetti, Mocchetti Gino specialises in designing, producing and installing industrial lifting and handling equipment tailored to client requirements.

The company operates from its headquarters in Rescaldina, Milan and supplies both national and international markets.

Mocchetti Gino works with clients across various industries to develop systems adapted to different operational environments.

The firm maintains a focus on engineering solutions that align with the demands of precision, safety and long-term serviceability in industrial processes.

Its teams collaborate closely with clients at each project’s outset to develop technical solutions for lifting and handling needs.

Last month, Mocchetti Gino completed the installation and testing of a magnetic crane at a client’s site. The crane, designed to meet the client’s specific operational requirements, had a lifting capacity of 25t and a span of 28.11m.

The installed system included a gate located midway along the walkway, providing access from a mobile elevating work platform.

Furthermore, the crane was equipped with a lowering mechanism that facilitated the safe evacuation of operators to the ground during emergencies.
