Spanish lifting equipment manufacturer Forjas Irizar has announced that current managing director Benito Lasa will quit the top job, allowing his daughter, Maria Lasa Irizar, to take on the role.

Over the last ten years Maria Lasa Irizar has worked as the company’s commercial director and has handled the firm’s export strategy, managing to establish a network of strong customer bases in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. Benito Lasa plans to step down as managing director at the end of this year, but will continue at the firm as the head of its research and development division, as well as serving as an advisor to the new managing director. Forjas Irizar is currently expanding its presence in the Americas, building warehouses in Sao Paulo, Brazil and in Houston, Texas in the USA. After nearly 20 years supplying customers in the Americas, the firm hopes to capitalise on its customers' experience of Forjas Irizar and offer its latest products to replace for Forjas Irizar products sold decades ago that are now nearing the end of their lifecycles.
