TCP Paranagua is Brazil’s third-largest container port terminal. The two ship-to-shore container cranes to be supplied to Paranagua can reach 52.5m over the water, and can reach back onto the dock 15m. They can lift to a height of 38m under the spreader. The safe working load is anything under 65t.
Lifting speeds on the machines can reach 70-175m per min while the trolley speeds attain 210m per min. They are powered by drives which are also made by Liebherr Container Cranes.
Alghanim Specialities are the principal contractors on a project to procure new units of equipment, among which are 27 Liebherrs, for the Port of Shuaiba in Kuwait.
The seven container cranes supplied to Shuaiba have the same safe working load of 65t under a twin lift spreader, but have a slightly smaller waterside outreach of 47.5m and smaller lift height of 35m. The cranes have a landside backreach of 16m.
Shuaiba’s twenty rubber tyre gantries are designed with 16 wheels, with the ability to stack one over four containers high and span six containers plus a truck lane.
Leibherr will build all the cranes at its facility in Killarney, Ireland. The Kuwait order is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2012, and the Brazilian order in the second.
