Steel construction company Hollandia has incorporated lifting solutions from ABUS Crane Systems to bolster operations at its facility in Krimpen aan den Ijssel, the Netherlands.

The installation includes a range of crane systems designed to manage the demanding tasks associated with handling heavy steel components.

The production plant features several ABUS cranes tailored for specific lifting needs. These include two double-girder overhead travelling cranes equipped with twin electric wire rope hoists that can lift up to 10 tonnes when loads are centred.

The capacity is limited to 8 tonnes per hoist beyond the marked zones, which permits safe handling of lengthy and heavy components while maintaining workspace flexibility.

Additionally, Hollandia employs three single-girder semi-goliath cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 5 tonnes for efficient movement of workpieces within designated hall areas. A smaller single-girder overhead travelling crane with a 2-tonne hoist is utilised for lighter assembly tasks and handling smaller items or tools.

Hollandia, known for its expertise in designing and constructing complex steel structures, has over 100 years of experience in major infrastructure projects such as bridges, locks, storm surge barriers, offshore platforms, and other intricate civil engineering works.

ABUS Crane Systems stated: “The collaboration with Hollandia highlights the trust placed in the strength and reliability of ABUS crane systems. Thanks to the diversity of installed cranes, Hollandia can optimise its production processes with full control over safety, capacity, and operational efficiency in every section of the plant.”
