Hoist UK has installed a bespoke steel mobile gantry it designed and fabricated in-house, with dimensions tailored to maximise lifting height and allow movement through the customer’s building.
The gantry has a rated capacity of 5,000kg, a height under the beam of 4.8m and a 4.12m span measured between the centres of its legs.
Hoist UK selected the height and span to work within the building’s restrictions while retaining as much lifting height as possible. The structure can be moved in and out of the building.
A VERLINDE VR electric chain hoist provides the lifting function, while a motorised travelling trolley moves the hoist along the gantry. The system offers hoisting speeds of 4m/min and 0.7m/min.
Trolley travel speed is variable from 5m/min to 20m/min, and operators use a four-button cabled control pendant.
Hoist UK said: “From initial design and in-house fabrication through to on-site installation, Hoist UK provides bespoke lifting solutions tailored to each customer’s requirements.”
Hoist UK designs, supplies, installs and maintains lifting equipment for manufacturing, aerospace, entertainment and specialist industries.
Its offering includes overhead crane systems, electric chain hoists and equipment developed for individual handling requirements.
Earlier this month, Hoist UK installed two EUROSYSTEM STD steel monorail systems at a customer’s site.
The monorail tracks were mounted to the client’s pre-existing steelwork structure, with all design specifications and imposed loadings approved prior to manufacture.
