Sodileve has completed the installation of a manual hoist gantry crane with a 1,000kg capacity in an older building.
The project required adjustments to accommodate the building’s structure, which included stone walls, wooden framework, and difficult access points.
The Sodileve team undertook the work in a setting described as atypical for this kind of installation.
The company noted that careful organisation and preparation were vital due to the configuration of the premises.
Adaptations were made to ensure the manual gantry crane could be safely assembled and operated despite the challenges presented by the space.
The company explained that the installation “required preparation adapted to the configuration of the premises.”
Sodileve said the project demonstrates the varied environments in which its teams operate and the technical expertise of its technicians.
Sodileve is a provider of installation and maintenance services for lifting equipment, with clients in sectors such as automotive, agri-food, wood processing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, industrial manufacturing, and construction.
The company is part of SM3I, a group formed in 2013 that is active across 32 departments in Western France.
According to figures from 2022, SM3I, together with subsidiaries Sodileve, SMAI, and Metalinox, completed over 8,000 projects for industrial clients in the region.
The group’s operations extend to trading, services, material handling, storage solutions, ergonomic equipment, outsourcing, and industrial metalwork.
In August 2026, Sodileve installed a Verlinde electric chain hoist at a site in Deux-Sèvres, France, for a client. The project involved fitting the Verlinde VX model in its ATEX-certified version, which is intended for use in environments where there is a risk of explosion.
