Hoist UK has supplied four Verlinde Eurochain VX EX electric chain hoists configured for use in ATEX Zone 21 hazardous areas.
The equipment is ready for dispatch and features several modifications to improve performance and safety in environments where explosive dust atmospheres may occur.
The supplied hoists are each rated with a lifting capacity of 1,250kg and offer a height of lift of 5m.
Each is equipped with a motorised travelling trolley to facilitate material handling operations.
All four units have been enhanced with stainless steel load chains and hook blocks, as well as debris catchers and drip trays fabricated in-house by Hoist UK.
The company has also used NSF H1 biodegradable lubricants throughout the hoisting and travel mechanisms.
ATEX Zone 21 certification applies to equipment used in areas where explosive dust may be present occasionally during normal operation. Products intended for these environments must be specifically designed and certified to ensure safe use in potentially hazardous conditions.
Hoist UK said: “This project demonstrates Hoist UK’s ability to supply and configure lifting equipment to suit demanding industrial environments, combining industry-leading products with bespoke in-house modifications to meet our customers’ exact requirements.”
The company highlighted that the delivered system combines industry-recognised products with tailored in-house modifications.
Hoist UK has been involved in the design, manufacture, and installation of lifting and handling systems for both industrial and entertainment sectors since its establishment in 2006 by Tony Dickson and Paul Jordan.
Originally a distributor for Verlinde, the firm has expanded its offering to include overhead crane systems, electric chain hoists, performer winches, shackles, and related equipment.
Its services now encompass technical consultation, delivery, and installation, with customers located across the UK and internationally in multiple markets.
Earlier this month, Hoist UK completed the design, manufacture and installation of a freestanding light crane system equipped with two single-girder bridges, each capable of lifting loads up to 1,000kg.
