France-based AMIO Levage has carried out the supply and installation of a motorised inverted jib crane system designed for handling steel sheets.

The crane, equipped with a CMU vacuum lifter with a 300kg capacity and a 4.2m reach, has been installed with a focus on improving safety and precision in sheet metal handling operations.

The system features a stem on drum design, and is fixed in place using a plate and chemical anchoring.

According to the Ancenis-based company, the crane includes a Donati chain hoist with a lifting height of 4m and offers two selectable lifting speeds of 4m/min and 1.2m/min.

The rotation mechanism is motorised, providing up to 290 degrees of movement at a rate of 0.8 rotations per minute.

The steering is also motorised, supporting two speeds—22m/min and 7m/min.

A key feature of the installation is the vacuum lifter, which is specifically intended to facilitate the handling of steel sheets.

The company states that this type of equipment allows for safe and accurate movement of metal materials, addressing both ergonomic and operational requirements at the workstation.

AMIO Levage manages the entire process, from system study through to supply, installation, and commissioning at the customer’s site.

The installation forms part of the company’s broader activity as a supplier and installer of lifting systems such as overhead cranes, electric jib cranes, semi-gantry cranes, and custom manual or automated handling solutions.

Recently, Texem Emeléstechnika, based in Hungary, completed the installation of a Donati MBB jib crane within a facility. To enable secure use of the crane, the company designed and constructed a separate steel support structure prior to the installation.
