Harold Potter, a Nottingham-based company specialising in lifting equipment, has manufactured and installed a 1t capacity swing jib crane for a client in Hertfordshire, England.
The crane, which was produced entirely in-house, features a height of 4.5m from the underside of the beam to the finished floor level.
It has an arm radius of 4.25m, a manual slewing mechanism, an electric hoist, and an electric travelling trolley.
According to Harold Potter, the installation took place following the company’s process of design, fabrication and assembly in its own facilities.
The company said all equipment undergoes full refurbishment and is checked to meet the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) before it leaves the Nottingham workshop.
Harold Potter supplies a range of overhead cranes, gantry cranes, goliath and semi-goliath cranes, along with swing jibs and lifting and spreading beams.
The company also provides services such as crane design and manufacture, LOLER inspections, maintenance, repair work, and spare parts for obsolete models.
In addition to supplying both new and used cranes, Harold Potter offers follow-up services to ensure maintenance and regulatory compliance for clients’ lifting equipment.
The firm supports businesses across the UK in keeping their existing systems operational, with services extending to refurbishment and repairs.
The recent installation in Hertfordshire is one of several projects undertaken by the company, which focuses on both manufacturing and servicing of overhead and swing jib cranes across the country.
Last month, Harold Potter completed the installation of a 12.5t safe working load Goliath crane at JRL Trent Precast in Skelmersdale.
The crane has a span of 30m and is equipped with travel beacons, storm anchors, and wireless remote controls.
Harold Potter also completed the installation of four new 5t single-girder overhead gantry cranes last month at the WH Davis facility in Derbyshire, England.
