Rope & Marine Services (RAMS) has completed repair work on a 360° overhead travelling crane, enabling the equipment to return to full operational use.

The company’s engineers carried out the repair work and then used calibrated weights to conduct a full load test.

The procedure assessed the crane’s performance, confirmed its structural integrity, and verified its compliance with relevant safety standards.

The successful lift demonstrated that the crane’s lifting elements could operate under specified loads.

RAMS said: “Following the repair works, the team carried out a full load test using calibrated test weights to verify the crane’s performance, safety, and compliance.

“It’s always rewarding to see complex equipment returned to service safely and efficiently.”

Rope & Marine Services, established in 1948, provides equipment hire, sales, repair and testing for lifting solutions across London and the South East.

The company has been operating in the sector for over 60 years and maintains facilities just east of the City of London, near the Rotherhithe Tunnel.

The business undertakes equipment examinations, maintenance, and site installations, using trained staff at its dedicated depot.

RAMS continues to support clients with various lifting requirements, providing services that include testing, certification and equipment delivery throughout the region.

Last month, RAMS prepared and inspected two new electric chain hoists for upcoming delivery to customers in Central London.

The equipment included the Columbus McKinnon Yale CPEF Electric Chain Hoist and the CM Lodestar Electric Chain Hoist.

Both models underwent detailed checks at the company’s workshop to confirm safety and operational readiness before dispatch to client locations.
