LEEA to promote Military Transition Scheme during #GLAD2021
28 June 2021LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) will promote its Military Transition Scheme during #GLAD2021 (Global Lifting Awareness Day) on July 8, offering free LEEA Foundation training online, and an Advanced Programme at reduced rates for Military leavers.
The Military Transition Scheme is designed to support the transition into the civilian lifting equipment industry for veterans and reservists within two years of leaving military service, by providing training and a link to to recruiters.
“We want to demonstrate to our military veterans and reservists just how wide and rewarding a career in the lifting equipment industry can be, but we’re asking for your help. We’re reaching out to our members and industry partners to find companies who would be able to offer employment to veterans and reservists,” said Ross Moloney, CEO, LEEA.
“We have already seen success; several of our military veterans and reservists have already secured employment with LEEA members through the Military Transition Scheme.”
The scheme is being highlighted during #GLAD2021 via the LEEA website with Kristina Carrington from the Armed Forces Covenant and Trudy Reilly from the Career Transition Partnership who will be talking about what their organisations do and how important it is to support military leavers, going into the civilian workforce.
LEEA recognises that ex-military personnel with transferable skills can potentially provide an important additional resource to the hoist and lifting industry, which is why it wants to offer a package of benefits to military veterans and reservists in support of this initiative.
The training includes: LEEA Foundation Certificate e-Learning course; diploma training courses at Military Training Scheme rates; a direct link to LEEA members who are recruiting and possible employment with its global members.
To apply for the scheme, applicants need to complete an online application form hereand once submitted, a member of the LEEA team will get in touch.
Andrew Wright, deputy CEO, LEEA, added: “We have refined the way LEEA supports military leavers into the civilian workforce, to make it easier for our members to recruit from this pool. With LEEA providing direct links to members who are recruiting, the scheme offers military leavers tremendous career opportunities through possible employment with one of our global members.”
