Laird Technologies acquires Cattron

St. Louis, Missouri- based Laird Technologies has announced the acquisition of Cattron Group International Inc.

Laird operates in the design and supply of customized, performance critical components and systems for advanced electronics.  Cattron supplies remote controls to a range of industries, and offers hosted network application software for asset monitoring.

With its headquarters in Pennsylvania, Cattron’s sales revenues for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010 were $53.8m.  The firm also has facilities in North America (Toronto, Canada; Montreal, Canada; Escondido, California), Europe (Mönchengladbach, Germany; Walton-on-Thames, UK), South America (Campinas, Brazil), Africa (Johannesburg, South Africa), and Asia (Shanghai, China).

Cattron operates in the design and supply of high-reliability wireless remote control systems serving industries including railroad, mining, and global industrial markets.  The firm also provides fully hosted networked applications software, enabling customers to monitor remote controlled assets in real-time. 

The purchase extends on Laird’s current range of wireless machine-to-machine  (M2M) product offering and the markets those products serve.
