Now the LEEA’s biggest single member, Speedy Lifting has been awarded the full member status in recognition of its commitment to delivering the highest technical and safety standards in the industry.

Speedy, which operates in 37 locations across the UK, passed a detailed audit by the LEEA which requires full members to conform to stringent standards for equipment, personnel, procedures and records.

At the same time the business has also successfully achieved Investors in People (IIP) accreditation, underlining Speedy’s sound business practices and commitment to staff training and development.

Claudio Veritiero, managing director, said: “We have become closely aligned to the LEEA through a shared focus of delivering quality and a desire to raise safety standards throughout the lifting industry. In such a safety critical area such as lifting operations, being recognised as having safe systems of work is of paramount importance and something potential hirers of equipment should look for in their suppliers.”

He added: “Our full membership of the association enables us to play a central role in developing industry best practise and we also plan to expand our IIP accredited training programme through the LEEA.”

Speedy Lifting was the first company to use the LEEA’s new training facility in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Over 27 Speedy Lifting employees have already completed an intensive two-day test and inspection course at the centre.
