Machinery manufacturer Noreva has enhanced its manufacturing capabilities with the installation of a 10t overhead crane from ABUS Crane Systems.

The investment is intended to improve the production of large and heavy nozzle check valve bodies.

The new crane system is expected to facilitate faster and safer transfers of valve components through various production stages, including inspection, pressure testing, coating, assembly, and packing.

This installation is part of Noreva’s ongoing efforts to increase productivity and streamline operations.

In a LinkedIn post, Noreva and Duvelco Germany director Hans Gustorf said: “As we are mainly manufacturing large, heavy nozzle check valves, we installed an additional 10 ton overhead crane to speed up the internal transports.

“The heavy valve bodies have to be moved from inspection to pressure testing to coating, assembly and packing stations.”

Established in August 2001 with nine employees, Noreva has expanded significantly, employing 55 people currently.

The company, headquartered in Mönchengladbach, Germany, is part of the Goodwin Group since 2007.

Specialising in water, oil and gas, desalination, oxygen, and cryogenic applications, Noreva focuses on producing custom-made valves tailored to specific client needs rather than relying on stock products.

Noreva’s non-slam check valves are known for their functional attributes such as non-slam closure, low pressure loss, metal-to-metal sealing, and maintenance-free operation.

With an average export rate of 75%, these valves are utilised globally in a variety of sectors including oil pipelines, chemical plants, compressor stations, power plants, water pumping stations, and desalination facilities.

This strategic equipment upgrade reflects Noreva’s commitment to maintaining high standards in quality and operational efficiency.

Last month, Steel Build delivered 13 overhead cranes, supplied by ABUS Crane Systems, to its new fabrication facility in UK.
