The document, ICS 8-2011, was developed using suggestions from member companies working with clients.
The advice on installing electrical systems outlined in the guidance is useful to electrical engineers, electrical contractors, maintenance engineers, and those responsible for installation of this equipment.
However NEMA reminds readers that ICS 8-2011 cannot replace the manufacturer’s instructions and does not alter meaning in all possible circumstances arising from the application, handling, storage, and installation of this equipment.
Problems should also be discussed with the manufacturer, it says. The guidance is available for download for free on the NEMA website.
