Companies that produce remote controls, festooning, drives, motors, conductor bar, anti-collision devices and weighing devices for material handling equipment are eligible for membership in ECMA. The mission of ECMA is to provide education and increase awareness of these technologies.
As part of this mission, ECMA has created liaisons with such organizations as the Crane Manufacturers of America (CMAA), the Hoist Manufacturers Institute (HMI), the Integrated Systems and Controls (ISC) Product Section of MHIA, the Monorail Manufacturers Association (MMA), the Association for Iron and Steel Technology and the Industrial Truck Association. Additionally ECMA will seek to inform the buying public of the benefit of applications for electrification and controlling devices as well as the development of specifications and standards to ensure proper quality of these products and their applications.
