Cox, a contract project manager with JR Clancy, is now an ETCP certified rigging professional. The certification shows individuals are proficient in the use of counterweight, mechanical, and hydraulic systems installed in theatres.
ETCP riggers are also educated on the health and safety issues involved in the use of theatre rigging, as well as Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requirements for the use, maintenance and inspection of rigging.
Cox joined the Clancy team in 2008 after leaving the New York City Opera as assistant technical director. She now oversees the in-house completion of large contract projects.
