UK-based crane manufacturer Granada Cranes has installed two 10t single girder cranes at an undisclosed client’s facility, marking the completion of its latest project.
The new cranes, each equipped with a 10t SWF Nova 2 underslung hoist, form part of work that began last month with the fabrication and placement of two 78m gantries.
These gantries were manufactured and installed by Granada Cranes’ fabrication team to fit existing infrastructure at the facility.
Both new cranes have now been integrated into the site to serve two bays, each measuring 78m, supported by compound columns in the central area and additional gantry rows along each bay.
Several team members contributed to the project, including crane technician Greg Mckown, crane engineers Liam Rodgers and Daniel Caffari, and installation specialist Martin Heason.
Project manager Bryan Sorroll was overseeing the planning and delivery.
Granada Cranes stated that the installation aimed to increase operational capacity at the facility.
Initial timelines projected a November finish for the entire project.
Rodgers said: “This has been uploaded later than planned due to other jobs needing to be completed before the end of the year, but I’m pleased to finally share the completion of two Granada 10th single girder cranes, each fitted with 10T SWF Nova 2 underslung hoists.
“This has been my most enjoyable installation to date at Granada. You always expect a few snags, but everything went smoothly from start to finish. Massive credit to Bryan Sorroll for organising this one.”
Granada Cranes has operated in the UK for over 20 years as a provider of electric overhead travelling cranes.
The company designs and installs cranes and also offers maintenance, breakdown repair services, and lifting accessories for various types of equipment.
