The firm was established in 1959 and says it is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of British Standard eyebolts (to BS4278) with the capability to manufacture and export a wide variety of customised lifting gear equipment, links, rings and drop forgings to both UK and overseas markets.

It is one of the few remaining companies using both traditional manufacturing techniques combined with advanced robotic equipment with full in-house testing and quality certification facilities.

For over 48 years Harris Walton has gained a reputation as one of the leading lifting gear specialists. Its customers come from as far and wide as Scandanavia, the Far East, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

It provides a range of stainless steel eyebolts and bownuts to the lifting and rigging, automotive, marine, oil and gas and structural fabrication markets. Wire rope, webbing and chain slings can also be manufactured to order.

Most of its employees have a minimum of 10 years employment with the company and a few members have clocked up 30 or even 40 years service.

Its production team includes skilled CNC programmers and setters, administration staff and quality controllers. All members of staff receive on-going training to meet new production techniques and efficiency. Its BSI quality control system and health and safety policies are implemented and managed together to provide a clean and safe environment, thus allowing the manufacture of the consistently high quality products to which it aspires.

It has total manufacturing flexibility due to its wholly owned forging and machining divisions, in-house testing facilities and test certification procedures which allow lead times to be greatly reduced.

Harris Walton has one of the few remaining blacksmith facilities which enables it to make links of any size and shape, which can be fitted to eyebolts etc or sold as special items (rings, egg links, normal shaped links and D-links).

Additionally, the firm has invested in the latest state-of-the-art robotic CNC machinery cells.
