UK-based Durham Lifting has finished repairing a 30t overhead crane at an unnamed location.

The company has supplied and installed a new main hoist rope to restore lifting capability and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

Durham Lifting said the crane was returned to a condition suitable for continued operation.

The Middlesbrough-based firm provides repair, inspection and maintenance services for lifting equipment across workshop and industrial settings.

Durham Lifting stated that its engineers manage the hoist rope replacement, carry out mechanical and electrical repairs, perform load testing, and complete compliance checks according to Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) regulations.

The company serves sectors including offshore wind, construction, manufacturing and rail. It states it has more than 25 years of experience and provides services to clients in the UK and internationally.

Established in 1996, Durham Lifting said it sources equipment from established suppliers to obtain competitive rates and rapid delivery.

Its stock includes lifting products, load restraint and height safety equipment for small loads through to systems designed for large-scale lifting.

The product range covers crane equipment, crane systems and upgrades, as well as hoisting and jacking equipment.

Durham Lifting said it offers lifting equipment design, routine maintenance and heavy lifting services and aims to deliver solutions that comply with industry standards and client requirements.

Last month, Durham Lifting installed and commissioned a free-standing cantilever I-beam jib crane with an electric chain hoist at a client facility.

The crane is designed for a safe working load of 500kg and offers a 290° slewing range.
