DGCrane has announced the export of a 5t single girder overhead crane equipped with a custom steel support structure to a client in Uruguay, marking the completion of the latest project in its international supply operations.
The newly delivered crane features a span length of 8.1m and a lifting height of 4.54m. It is fitted with one 5-tonne Euro-type electric hoist and designed for an A5 work duty cycle, providing both pendant control and remote operational modes.
The power system specification is 380V, 50Hz, three-phase.
At the outset of the project, the Uruguayan customer approached DGCrane with a request for a gantry crane due to the absence of an existing support infrastructure such as columns, brackets or runway beams.
After initial consultation, DGCrane proposed an overhead crane solution anchored by a specially designed steel framework.
This approach allowed for the installation of columns closer to the building’s wall, thereby increasing available working space compared to what would be possible with a gantry crane.
DGCrane also identified cost efficiencies in this configuration and presented these findings to the client during discussions.
Following evaluation of both technical and economic factors, the client decided to move forward with the overhead crane option as opposed to the original gantry crane plan. DGCrane subsequently confirmed the order and dispatched the crane system to Uruguay.
In a separate development, DGCrane has fulfilled an order for 18 sets of crane support rollers with shafts for a prominent steel manufacturer in Mexico. The company described this client as “one of our most important partners.”
The order consisted of support rollers measuring 315mm in diameter and 883mm in length, each weighing approximately 175kg.
Manufacture of these components followed technical drawings supplied by the customer. DGCrane utilised 45# medium carbon steel (without heat treatment) for the rollers, while both hollow and solid shafts were produced from 42CrMo alloy steel.
The steel plates used were specified as Q355B grade and shaft surfaces were treated to achieve a hardness level between HB220 and HB280 after quenching and tempering.
With consideration given to long transit times, DGCrane packaged all products in wooden crates and covered each roller surface in plastic film to minimise potential shipping damage.
DGCrane produces custom wheels, sheaves, shafts, hooks, and related crane components to meet diverse project requirements across multiple international markets.
