The Valve In Star (VIS) hydraulic motor range is claimed to be an entirely new design that boasts improved pressure capability, higher efficiency, quieter running and more compact dimensions. Eaton’s VIS has the oil flow distributor valve inside the internal gear of the geroller set which allows the motor to be shorter. There are also fewer components and more torque can be generated, the manufacturer says.
Designed primarily for closed loop systems, the motors can be used on open loop systems if a 6.9 bar back pressure is applied to provide adequate lubrication. Two frame sizes are available, VIS 30 and VIS 45, and output torque ranges from 720Nm to 3801Nm (continuous).
Various shaft, flange and port options are available, including one without the standard shaft and bearings which are part of the unit that the motor is to drive, thereby saving space and money.
