The monorail crane will be equipped with a hoist and tractor for horizontal travel. The hoist is comprised of wire rope, two drums, gearing and electric motor controls. The crane is to be operated by a remote or pendant type control.
The monorail crane is to be installed beneath the spillway bridge and above the stop log slots. The contractor will build the crane in its factory and deliver it to the Gavins Point Project near Yankton, South Dakota, mount it on the existing rail and complete a load test of the completed unit.
