Nobody needs reminding that the financial landscape has changed significantly since the last Bauma show in 2007.

While seven days in April will not see widespread investment return to the world’s financial markets, which needs to happen before prosperity returns to the construction and, in turn, crane industries, Bauma will place a reliable yardstick from an international perspective.

Despite the worldwide economic downturn in the past year or so, the show’s organisers expect 3,000 exhibitors: matching the record set in 2007. More than 500,000 visitors from nearly 200 countries attended the previous show, a 35% increase in international guests. These numbers are also on track to be met next month.
