AMIO Levage has completed the installation of two aluminium handling structures at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
The project involved the supply and commissioning of lifting equipment to support operations at the large, well-established shipbuilding site.
Each of the two new handling structures comprises three beams, with a working load capacity of 500kg per unit.
The systems feature runway lengths of 88m and a width of 9m.
The aluminium structures are suspended beneath a metal profile and are equipped with chain hoists for lifting, offering two speeds of 7.5m/min and 1m/min. The height under the hook is 6.4m.
The company states its involvement covered the full process from technical definition to commissioning.
AMIO Levage has more than 30 years of experience in the manufacture of handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, semi-gantries, electric jib cranes, and lifting beams.
Its workshops specialise in both standard and custom-designed systems, with each project preceded by studies to establish site-specific needs.

Earlier this month, AMIO Levage installed a 5t overhead crane with an 8.7m reach for a client. The project included a technical study, equipment manufacturing, and full on-site installation at the client’s facility. The company managed every phase, from system analysis through final commissioning.
