France-based AMIO Levage has supplied and installed a 5t CMU overhead crane featuring a reach of 8.7m for an undisclosed client.

The project included the study, manufacture, and turnkey installation at the customer’s site, with the company overseeing the entire process from system analysis through to commissioning.

The crane is equipped with a box girder structure and two wire rope hoists, each offering a lifting stroke of 6m.

Schneider dimmers are fitted on all axes, aiming to enable smoother movement.

All crane functions, including movement and lifting, are operated through a radio control system.

A raised beam feature was incorporated to increase the available height under the hook.

The system also includes an anti-collision device designed for operation between bridges, as well as a remote control with a hoist selector.

This allows users to perform lifting tasks with either one or both hoists depending on the requirements.

AMIO Levage describes itself as managing every stage of project delivery, from technical study and equipment supply to installation and commissioning at customer premises.

The company’s activities cover a range of lifting systems such as overhead cranes, electric jib cranes, semi-gantry cranes, and customised manual or automated handling solutions.

According to AMIO Levage, the firm has more than 30 years of experience supplying industrial sectors, including shipbuilding, aeronautics, the steel industry, metallurgy, public works, and logistics, among others.

The company states that its approach centres on adapting lifting solutions to fit each client’s production processes, while placing emphasis on occupational health and safety considerations.

In July 2026, AMIO Levage supplied and installed a motorised inverted jib crane system intended for handling steel sheets. The equipment includes a CMU vacuum lifter with a 300kg capacity and a reach of 4.2m.

The company states that the installation is aimed at enhancing safety and precision during sheet metal handling tasks. The system uses a stem on drum configuration and is secured to its location with a plate and chemical anchoring.
