CraneCert, a UK-based specialist in overhead crane and lifting equipment, has completed a crane modernisation project during a planned maintenance period.
The company carried out the work without affecting ongoing production.
Engineers installed a new hoist, replaced the mains control panel, and upgraded the crane with wireless remote control.
All tasks were completed within the scheduled maintenance window, which allowed the company to minimise operational downtime while ensuring that the equipment remained functional throughout the process.
The company said: “By completing all work during the scheduled maintenance window, we improved reliability, operator flexibility, and crane performance while keeping downtime to a minimum.”
CraneCert supplies inspection, compliance, servicing, breakdown response, design, and installation services for overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
The organisation operates across Yorkshire, the Midlands, North West, and North East England, supporting sectors such as manufacturing, warehousing, steel stockholding, logistics, utilities, infrastructure, and heavy industry.
Services include compliance assessments under LOLER and PUWER regulations, regular maintenance, repairs, emergency call-outs, modernisation, and new installations.
In October last year, CraneCert completed the design, fabrication and installation of a 1,000kg safe working load jib crane for a manufacturing client in the UK.
The company engineered the jib crane at its own facility to meet the specific requirements of the client’s operational area, establishing optimal reach and coverage within a compact space.
Installation took place while other equipment on the production site remained active, allowing continued operations with minimal interruption.
