China-based crane manufacturer Yuantai Crane Machinery has installed a 10-ton MH single girder gantry crane with a double-speed chain hoist at a steel fabrication facility.
The new gantry crane, designed for industrial applications, enhances reliability and safety, offering precise lifting and increased efficiency.
Its double-speed chain hoist is a key feature, providing flexibility in handling heavy materials.
The steel fabrication sector involves cutting, bending, and assembling steel for construction, automotive, and machinery, which demands precise handling of heavy materials.
The client, a mid-sized company specialising in structural steel components, required a solution to manage steel plates, beams, and assemblies weighing up to 10 tons efficiently.
Previously, the facility relied on overhead cranes and forklifts, which presented challenges, as overhead cranes had limited coverage, leaving some workshop areas inaccessible.
The new gantry crane was selected for its ability to handle heavy loads in confined spaces, covering the entire workshop floor.
The crane operates at lifting speeds of 7m/min (single speed) or 0.7/7m/min (double speed) and a travelling speed of 20 m/min.
Key features of the gantry crane include a double-speed chain hoist, providing two lifting speeds for precise positioning and general lifting tasks.
Its mobility allows movement across the shop floor, avoiding multiple fixed cranes.
The crane features safety features such as overload limiters, emergency stop buttons, and optional anti-collision sensors enhance operational safety.
Yuantai completed the installation process within a week, including testing and operator training, with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
The new crane resulted in a 30% reduction in material handling time, improved safety, and increased flexibility in workflow arrangements.

Recently, Yuantai has successfully delivered a 5-ton LH series overhead crane with an electric hoist trolley to a cement mixing facility in Yemen.
