Verlinde has redesigned the mechanical system of its VHR hoist in order to eliminate risk of spark generation during use, including manufacturing all hoisting mechanical parts from stainless steel or bronze. Other changes include gear pinions and gears manufactured by machining and not foundry, chrome-plated hoods to remove mechanical shocks, bronze-clad hooks and a stainless steel hand chain.

VHR ATEX hoists have been designed in two versions, push pulley and chain-operated trolley, and are available with ATEX directional trolleys.
