The units will contribute to encouraging the development of local craftwork, and in particular the workshops for general mechanics or mechanics for farm equipment.

PVDD is an association under the 1901 Act whose vocation is to participate in providing practical help for sustainable development in southern countries.
For local routing of the chain hoists, PVDD relies on other associations which will ensure that the equipment arrives at its destination, even though the risks of it being diverted are frequent and that the transit and customs clearance procedures often take a long time.
The first chain hoists are being distributed in Haiti, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Togo.
