Middle East Cranes will feature presentations on the application of cranes in dockside, pipeline, power plants and other large-scale projects. On the second day, afternoon panel discussions will cover, among other subjects, factory crane safety.
The area attracts construction cranes from all over the world, fuelled not just by high oil prices, but also from tourism. The city is going through a construction boom as it becomes a Las Vegas-style resort destination. But factory cranes are also becoming increasingly busy in the region.
Hoist editor Richard Howes said: “The Middle East wants to build an economy that can survive without oil – it needs factory cranes to do that.”
The new conference demonstrates that Wilmington is addressing the most important markets in the world, says Hoist publisher David Wildman.
The popular Crane Safety conference will also return to London in June 2007, although slightly earlier in the month than previous events. Crane Safety 2007 will take place on 4-5 June 2007 at the Trade Union Congress Centre in London.
The London event last year featured speakers including Ilkka Riikonen (KCI Konecranes) and Derrick Bailes (LEEA).
