Industrias Velasco Cabrera (VECA), an industrial equipment supplier based in Spain, has installed a 3,200kg overhead crane featuring a hoist from Verlinde Lifting Equipment.

The installation uses an advanced design with transverse crane rails instead of traditional longitudinal beams.

It allows the hoist to navigate various areas of the building, thereby maximising the use of available space.

The crane is equipped with an electric travel system, enhancing its mobility and operational efficiency within the facility.

Verlinde is a France-based manufacturer and exporter of lifting and handling equipment.

Last year, the company has expanded its footprint with new offices in Dubai and Singapore, strengthening its presence in the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia Pacific regions.

VECA, in a LinkedIn post, said: “In Designing lifting systems in old buildings is no easy task, especially when the floor is filled with intermediate columns. This was the challenge at the new chlorine bottle warehouse in Colmenar (Madrid).”

In a related development, CIC ORIO Vefour integrated a second Verlinde VT3 wire rope hoist onto an existing 10-ton overhead crane.

The integration, reported by JDL Groupe, is designed to enable synchronised lifting of long and fragile tubular parts using dual hooks, adhering to standard EN 15011.

The regulation requires simultaneous stopping at the end of travel and load summation.

CIC ORIO Vefour, with over three decades of expertise in lifting solutions, specialises in both custom and standard crane construction.

The company also serves as the exclusive distributor of Verlinde hoist and crane spare parts in the Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regions.

The project was commissioned by a leading firm in high-voltage substation design, necessitating the precise lifting of delicate and expensive tubular components.
