The company will preview its next generation electric wire rope hoist, the Nova2 Rope.
The entire structure has been redesigned compared with its forerunner, the Nova1 Rope, while as an alternative to conventional steel rope, the Nova2 Rope can be equipped with a synthetic rope made of Dyneema fiber, which is 90% lighter than the steel rope version; does not require lubrication, making it cleaner and easier to maintain; makes operation safer as there are no broken wires or sharp edges to pose a risk of injury; and reduces wear and tear on the drum, rope guide and pulleys.
The new product’s rope drum has a closed bearing and has the same groove geometry for both types of rope, which simplifies the conversion from synthetic to steel rope. The hoisting motor and gearbox are located on the outside of the drum, the hook block is designed for the synthetic and steel rope, and the trolley wheels are made of iron cast, while guide rollers reduce wearing, which contributes to a longer service life of the components. The overload protection is positioned more upwards compared to the Nova1 Rope model for “easy disassembly and service”.
In addition, the new product is equipped with the digitally networked hoist monitoring system Omni Control, and the frequency inverter Vario Control.
The Nova2 rope will be launched on the market this year. At the start of the new series, models for load capacities of up to 10t are expected to be available.
New at the fair too will be the explosion-proof chain hoist Athlo Chain Ex Zone 22, which is designed for load capacities from 160kg to 1,000kg. SWF Krantechnik says other sizes with load capacities of up to 2,500kg will follow over time.
In order to comply with the explosion protection regulations, changes to the existing Athlo Chain model were made to address areas such as sealing, preventing overheating, and the exclusion of sparks caused by static electricity or other ignition methods.
In addition to the trade fair innovations, SWF Krantechnik will be presenting the belt hoist Athlo Belt and the light crane system ProfileMaster Plus with chain hoists from the Athlo Chain series at LogiMat 2024. The company will be located in Hall 7, booth F65, at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre from 19-21 March 2024.
Founded in 1921, SWF Krantechnik’s product portfolio includes chain hoists, electric wire rope hoists, crane components, electronic monitoring and controlling systems, and light crane systems. The company is headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, with offices in in Singapore and Shanghai.
