UK-based industrial equipment supplier Street Cranexpress has unveiled Halo Lights, a system designed to enhance safety during lifting operations.
Halo Lights are designed to improve visibility of overhead crane movements and serve as a visual warning system for suspended loads.
The advanced system aims to reduce pedestrian risks in active industrial environments, making workplaces safer for employees.
Halo Lights project highly visible zones on the ground beneath cranes or hooks, significantly boosting safety for pedestrians in workshops or warehouses.
Street Cranexpress offers two types of Halo Lights, the projector type emits a customisable circular image suitable for indoor operations, and the laser type projects straight lines.
Halo Light systems provide several benefits, increasing the visibility of crane movements on the ground.
It serves as a visual warning for suspended loads and reduces the risk to pedestrians in busy industrial settings.
When a crane moves a load in the air, its position is visible on the floor, facilitating safer pedestrian navigation.
Earlier this year, Street Cranexpress secured a contract to provide overhead crane maintenance and support for Severfield in York, as well as its newly opened training centre.
Severfield is a UK-based specialist in structural steel construction works and relies on over one hundred overhead cranes.
Street Cranexpress was selected based on its expertise, offering a tailored service that emphasises safety and adherence to regulations like LOLER and PUWER.
In addition to scheduled maintenance, Street Cranexpress provides a 24/7 emergency callout service to address urgent issues, minimising disruption to Severfield’s operations.
A dedicated account manager will maintain regular communication with Severfield, monitoring performance and adjusting maintenance schedules to ensure optimal crane operation.
