Despite the popularity of Asian products in Europe and North America, a recent Carl Stahl order has gone the other way. Carl Stahl Nordgreif, a Hamburg, Germany division of the equipment manufacturer, supplied 12 coil grabs for a Vietnamese steel mill. Ten were 25t capacity electro-mechanical telescopic grabs for thin sheet metal coils with sensors to help prevent damage. Two 25t capacity vertical coil grabs develop a contact pressure of 125t to grip the slightly oily coils.
