The award, “granted every year to organisations that offer the most exceptional and innovative service solutions,” according to Speedy, is based entirely on customer feedback.

Mark Turnbull, group safety, health, environment and quality director at Speedy Hire said: “It is especially satisfying to have received this award, as it shows that the hard work we put in every day is being recognised by our customers. Health and safety in the construction industry has been a top priority for a number of years and we will continue to provide the equipment, training and advice to help our customers meet a wide range of health and safety standards,” he added.

Speedy’s health and safety campaign, Safety from the Ground Up, aims to increase the awareness of risk and promote safer practice when working. The campaign has focussed on a variety of issues, including dust, hand-arm vibration, manual handling and working at height.

Speedy also enjoyed success at the inaugural European Rental Awards in Amsterdam with chief executive Steve Corcoran (pictured) voted rental person of the year.
